Part of Jodo (Pure Land) Sect. The principal image is of Amida Nyorai, and was founded by Priest Tansei in 1609. The main temple is enshrined by a statue of Tansei, made by his own hand.
Statues of Amida Nyorai (Heian Period), Yakushi Nyorai and Shokajiha Kannon are enshrined here.
One highlight is the endless road that begins at the Tsang Dynastly style Ryugu Gate to the swamp. Visitors are few in here, making the atmosphere somewhat creepy!
The cave here was carved by the monks in order to house sarcophagus' of their brothers. Very unusual but facinating atmosphere.
Very beautiful during the foliage season, but access to this location is a little difficult, so it may be a good idea to take a taxi or car (There is free parking available)
